Vegetable tanning

Vegetable tanning is an ancient and slow process, based on the use of natural tannins that bestows unique and unmistakable characteristics on the leather. Vegetable-tanned leather changes with use and over time, altering its appearance and color: this transformation is proof of its natural and genuine character. Coloring with tannins gives the leather warm and shimmering tones.

No piece is the same as another, each article is unique in some way or other. The treatment of the raw hides to turn them into leather is carried out in a manner totally respectful of nature. The finished product contains no toxic substances and the production cycle has been designed to keep the impact on the environment to a minimum.

The vegetable-tanned leather is of 100% European origin and comes exclusively from cattle raised for the food industry: no animal is slaughtered for any other purpose than this.

The sourcing and treatment of hides from the food industry are part of a process of circular economy: they make it possible to utilize a waste material that would otherwise present serious problems of disposal.
